I needed a sound effect of a body being thrown into a river for a play. This is a recording of me falling backwards into a pool. Splash_1 is a little louder, and there is some clipping. Splash_2 is a bit longer. Recorded using internal mics of a zoom h2n.

The sound of water free falling off the edge of a flat roof. I opened the apartment balcony door and started recording. The fourth floor apartment is on the corner. The water was draining off the flat roof over the edge and falling directly from the roof to the ground. The recording equipment is a studio quality apex 460 multi pattern tube condensor microphone. It was located to avoid getting wet (!) and was about 90 degrees and six feet away from the sound source, just set in a few feet from the open balcony door.

Blood gushing fall to concrete floor; created by pouring a water/corn syrup mixture onto my foley artist's arm over a concrete drain. Towards the end you can hear my foley artist start laughing because the mixture was splashing everywhere lol. . . Still a great clip and we used it in a horror slasher film to simulate blood gush from a stabbing.

A mid-sized waterfall flowing into a gentle stream. This is near the road by the grand prismatic spring in yellowstone. The timbre of this smaller fall is higher than the roar of the large waterfall. And you can just make out the gurgling of the stream. But, in general, this kind of thing sounds a bit like static. Sorry it's so short, there was a lot of wind and people talking. Sound recording of a two tier mini waterfall into my small fish pond. Recorded with a tascam dr-07 mk ii. 24 bit, 44. 1 khz, stereo. First 10 seconds is the raw recording. Note the 60 hz hum due to the water pump being just under the water fall splash area. The last 20 seconds is the processed audio using ableton live 8 affects rack and the following affects. 1. Notch filter – 60 hz applied two times. 2. Lp filter –knee at 1 khz3. Hp filter-knee at about 3. 2 khz4. Granular delay – bubbling sound5. Chorus audio effect-snap, crackly sound. 6. Reverb-cave echo affect-high wet/dry7. Utility- for stereo width.

This is one of the very few canarian permanent waterfalls. It is located in los tilos forest, a biosphere reserve within las nieves natural park in la palma (canary islands, spain). It's about 25 meters tall and flows into a gorge covered by a thick laurel forest (laurisilva), a tropical ecosystem full of trees and ferns resembling jurassic park. Recorded with sony pcm-d50's stereo mic.

Recorded on 20. 05. 2020 on schneealpe in styria, austria. Its funny - and a bit scary - that one can see the exact crevice the recording took place from a satellite. There was a bit of snow left from winter but rapidly melting. Drops fall from 30 cm to the rock below in different rhythms. Recorded with 2 km184 ab ~40cm apart into sounddevices 744. Unfortunately i had no proper windscreen and so there is quite some rumble up to 120hz. The rumble can be filtered out easily, but i left the recording as is (i normalized and converted from 96k to 48k in audacity).
